IT Business Analyst (Job ID: 202002-01)

Status: Full-time, Permanent |  Vacancies: One  | FTE: 1.0  |  Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Are you a skilled IT Business Analyst? Are you skilled in assessing IT requirements and creating strategy positioning our organization for future growth?

Working collaboratively with respective stakeholders while, reporting to the Manager of Finance, you are responsible for identifying, evaluating and ensuring a clear understanding for the needs of both clients and stakeholders. You, the ideal candidate, will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and turn that understanding into concise business requirements with details technical requirements.

 

Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering:

  • Proficiency in understanding IT infrastructure, data reporting and analytics, software integration and third-party software evaluations.
  • Draft project requirements, write test scenarios and plans, manage projects, possess technical knowledge to work well with developers, and bring sound business knowledge to IT projects.
  • Act as a liaison between departmental end-users, IT providers, consultants and other third-party vendors in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of projects to ensure optimal performance.
  • Consult with internal and external teams to identify, define and document IT and business risk, needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, and potential opportunities and solutions to ensure solutions being delivered meet business intent and provide business value.
  • Produce business analysis related documentation, including (functional and non-functional) requirements, current and future state processes and workflows, and solution specifications to a high-quality standard.
  • Administration and tracking of company assets including but not limited to computers and cell phone
  • Review and administration of software licenses and agreements
  • Management of telephones landline via TELUS Business Connect
  • Collaboration with out-sourced IT service provider on upgrades, new projects
  • Investigating and resolving printer issues in collaboration with IT service provider and printer supplier
  • Providing IT orientation and assisting with initial setup for new employees
  • Assisting employees with Office 365 suite issues.

Qualifications

Education: You have a post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field.

Experience:  You will have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as an IT Business Analyst; project management experience required. Healthcare experience an asset.

Technical: You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in the following technologies is an asset: CRM platform (e.g., Hubspot), business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlikview), accounting application (Sage 300) and data warehousing.

Organization Skills: You are a self-starter, efficient, organized and have a proven ability to produce top-quality work in a mid-level environment.  You have a great ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with strong documentation and business process diagramming.

 Communication and Customer Relations Skills: You are a strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with people at all levels.  Excellent followup and problem-solving skills, with ability to make intuitive decisions. Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information and material appropriately.

Attention to Detail: You have high attention to delay, with precision and accuracy in all aspects of work.

Team-oriented: You have an ability to work effectively independently as well as with a team.

Additional Requirements

Background Check: A clear Criminal Background check is required to start. If you have resided outside Calgary in the past 12 months, you will need to contact the local police or RCMP detachment in your previous residential municipality to be able to obtain a full report.
