Status: Full-time, Temporary (One-year Contract) | Vacancies: One | FTE: 1.0 | Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The ideal candidate is a Registered Social Worker with a proven track record working with a primary care team.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university is required as is registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers. Demonstrated clinical experience and competence in dealing with health issues. Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers is required.
Functional knowledge: Demonstrated clinical experience and competence in dealing with health issues. Knowledge of applicable data privacy laws.
Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience required; recent clinical care experience in an advanced practice role would be an asset. Experience working in a primary care environment is preferred. Previous experience handling confidential or sensitive information. Proficient in the use of computers including knowledge of and the ability to use Electronic Medical Record. Basic skills in Microsoft Office required.
Organizational and problem-solving skills: Ability to keep accurate and up-to-date patient charts. Advanced multitasking skills with ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities. Ability to work independently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Must demonstrate flexibility and an ability to provide service within a fast-paced, continually changing healthcare environment.
Communications and customer-relations skills: Must possess strong participative and collaborative skills including excellent communication and consultation skills. Ability to use tact and discretion, effective interpersonal skills, commitment to client service; and comfortable with rapid and ongoing change. Open and willing to share information with others in a diplomatic manner while maintaining confidentiality. Demonstrated strength in business writing, ability to market and promote programs and services, and explain complex clinical situations to non-professionals.
Background check: A clear Criminal Background check, inclusive of a vulnerable sector search, is required to start. If you have resided outside of Calgary in the past 12 months, you will need to contact the local police or RCMP detachment in your previous residential municipality to obtain a full report.
