Behavioural Health Consultants

Behavioural Health Consultants (BHCs) are part of the Alberta Health Services Shared Mental Health team and work in CWC PCN physician clinics. BHCs see individuals, couples and families and are often able to address patient concerns in one visit. About 20 per cent of patients may require longer term assistance.

The BHCs at the CWC PCN work within physician member clinics and availability may vary by clinic.

BHCs assist with a wide range of issues such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Relationship issues
  • Sleep concerns
  • Substance abuse
  • Eating disorders
  • Chronic pain and illness
  • Anger management
  • Lifestyle concerns
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
